Maintaining My Health While Studying Abroad in London, England
In this photoset I decided to focus on ways that I have been able to stay mentally and physically healthy while studying abroad in London. Coming to a new country and not knowing a lot of people came with its own set of challenges, and in this photoset I wanted to show some strategies or tips on how to maintain your health while studying abroad.

Exploring London’s Parks
A few of the photos I have chosen to feature are of some of the various parks in London, such St James’s Park and Regent's Park.
Fluffy clouds and people in the park (St James’s Park)
I find that walking through a green area on a sunny day helps me to relieve stress and maintain good mental health. In the gray weather here, it is easy to feel gloomy and not your best, so I really recommend taking advantage of the green spaces and the sunny days.

A Walkable City
Along with the benefits for your mental health, when I’m in these parks, I like to walk around which helps with your physical health as well. Since London is such a walkable city I find that almost every day I am hitting 10,000 steps or more which helps maintain some physical health.
Good Eats
I have also included some photos of different meals or food that I've eaten, and for me personally trying new foods and eating delicious foods makes me happy.
Gourmet hot chocolate (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Can’t go wrong with spaghetti and meatballs (Edinburgh, Scotland)
When I'm eating these foods that are made with good ingredients, I'm contributing to my physical health and my mental health at the same time.

Stimulating My Brain
Another way that I have maintained good mental health is by stimulating my brain in different ways, and making sure I'm not always in front of my computer or my phone screen. In my photoset, you'll be able to see a photo of the outside of the West End theater showing the musical “Les Miserables.” The theater shows in London are amazing and I've been able to take advantage of some of the shows, with “Les Mis” being my absolute favorite.

I also have a photo of the famous bookstore Daunt Books in Marylebone, and I have found that reading is another good way to simulate my brain in a healthier way than technology.

Connecting with Friends
Finally, I also included a picture of myself and some friends who visited from the United States. Spending time around people and building connections and relationships is another good way to maintain good mental health and ensure that feelings of overwhelm or loneliness don't become severe.
Always good to see friends from home (Tower Bridge)
I hope that my photos will be able to give people some tips or ideas of what they can do to promote their mental and physical well-being while studying abroad in London.
