Program Structure & Courses

Enroll in a maximum of 5 courses or the equivalent of 30 ECTS credits, which translates to approximately 15 US credits (may vary depending on your school's policy). Contact hours and meeting times vary; courses may be structured as seminars, lectures, or tutorials.

The academic structure lists a small sample of the subject areas available. You will have access to introductory, intermediate and advanced courses in a variety of subject areas.

See below for information how to access the Griffith College website to access a full list of courses.

Students pre-register for modules before the semester starts and officially register once on campus. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Navigating the Griffith College Website for Courses

  • Irish institutions use different terms when discussing departments, majors, courses, etc. These will be important to know when reviewing the academic options on the program:
    • Major = Course
    • Course/Class = Module
  • Students do not register for modules until they arrive on campus for the start of the semester. It is still important to review the modules available at Griffith College, however, to ensure students receive approval from their academic advisor.
  • CEA CAPA recommend securing academic approval of 8-10 courses prior to departing for the program. Students should take no more than 30 ECTS credits (15 US credits), which is 5 modules.
  • View all course offerings here
  • When using the course filtering system, select the following criteria:
    • Course Type: Undergraduate
    • Study Mode: Full-Time
    • Location: Dublin Main Campus
  • After selecting a course you are interested in, you will be taken to that course’s webpage. There, select "Course Details," where you will find a list of modules available in that course. By clicking on each module title, there will be a summary, and in some cases, a syllabi will be available.
  • The "Timetables" section allows you to review when each module will be taught, but know that course times can be subject to change.
